África in feminine

The exhibition "Africa in feminine" told the story of Jankey Jassey and other women in Gambia who are trying to cope with what the country expects of them, all while fighting the gender norms. They work to achieve a place in education and jobs historically held by men.

The exhibition was divided into two sections of 11 panels. The left shows the story of Jankey Jassey and the women she works with at the Fandema School for the Development of Women where they learn how to install solar panels. The right shows the story of other women in Gambia who have worked most of their lives to challenge today's gender roles in Gambia.

A video produced by Guillem Trius was also shown as a way to understand the educational programs available to women in the country.
