Clara Roig is a Communications Manager and journalist in RUIDO Photo, interested in social issues and global topics. After graduating in Journalism Studies for University Pompeu Fabra (2015) and spending an exchange in University of California, Berkeley, she took a plane without return ticket for Mexico. She spent nine months travelling across Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia and Argentina searching for untold stories. That is how she met families in a poverty situation, indigenous and rural communities and even Bolivian president, Evo Morales. Since that journey, she developed a multimedia journalistic project about the coca leave that was published digitally in La Vanguardia, ¡El pacifista! from VICE Colombia, LATE magazine and OpenDemocracy en español.
She was a correspondent in the European Parliament in Strasbourg for La Vanguardia from February to July 2017 and since November 2016 she started as a Communication Manager of RUIDO Photo. Before, she took part of internships with different media, between EFE and ACN, the ARA journal and in Radio Bilingüe, a Latin radio station in California. She also gained experience as a Community Manager during her passage for the Wall Street English, where she worked with social media and communication strategies.
